Afternoon tide push, bouncing into it , fresh fish,, a little luck and see what you get , Tony and his wife, fought these fish with no problems, come to find out this wasn't her biggest fish in Alaska it fell short of that mark by 7 pounds, sunny day , tides and fresh fish , I just can add anymore to this the picture says it all, see you next year for some more hot action, good fishing to you guys............Labels: July Kenai Kings in Alaska
Just about as mint bright as you could order, the boys really kept some dandy's from the river today , it wasn't a ripper of a bite but we just fished and when they showed we picked them off one at a time , good choice of fish, the guys are the bouncing machine's and looking forward already to next year , with such great tides and good fish showing its just a matter of time till that fish of a lifetime shows , hats off boys and good fishing to the Christensen Group for such a fun day on the water in JulyLabels: July Kenai Kings in Alaska
With the fishing heating up, and Don just returning from a week of fishing in Canada, at Great Salve at "ice-out" its going to be a tough road , to try and get some whopper's for the family. Let me tell you with Donnie and the Grand daughters in the boat , the action started out hot and always ended up hot , these girls took right to this King Salmon fishing like a duck to water, but by the time they landed there first one, we want more, rain or shine didn't slow the girls up , Ive have some fun times on the Kenai but its sure fun seeing folks with that first time enthusiasm as we seen for a couple of days in July, hats off and Kudo's to the girls on a job very well done, they ran around the boat when we had a fish on with the nets held high, a little scream once and awhile (the woman's sound) and all the rods layed in place, and even putting the fish with the bat to fish heaven, girls don't change and I'll hope to see you again with Grandpa Don and good luck Labels: July Kenai Kings in Alaska

They showed a little late, this year , but just in time for the first week of the Weyerhouser group, with Peterson and Berkly rally the clients to some more great fishing on the Kenai River , this nice fish was caught pretty early in the day for Berkley to be keeping one, but it was just to good of a fish to roll back, Berkly and Alex were on there toes all week, and we had a special treat Alex brought his Ipod player with the built in speakers, trust me the fishing was good but during the slow time , "stairway to heaven " wasn't bad , it was 5 days of rock -n-roll oldies, and some great solid Kenai River Kings...............good job BerkLabels: July Kenai River Kings
I could go on and on about this week of fishing , but this one picture says it all Little Lars got his first big Kenai King, and had plenty of couching, but that smile says it all . Over the years his Grandpa Doug has put 12 Kings on the wall , along with his Son Lars also, but to see the 3 generation of Noren's tackle the Kings on the Kenai goes unsaid. Lars Jr fought this fish from start to finish on a great tide push at "mud island" and ate one of the fancy painted "G-Spot" k-16 with a wrap, water conditions fell apart for the first super Tuesday in July , but there were fish to go around we just had to work extra hard to get the bites, these were carry over June fish that were still coming in July and there were plenty of them, see you guys next year on another ripping week of Kenai River Kings...........Labels: July Kenai Kings in Alaska
Ray and wife are well seasoned fisherman, and do they like catching kings , there last trip up to Alaska wasn't as good as this one , and they really caught some nice fish in 2008 , the water conditions were still improving daily, and the catching was getting better, a great combination for Kenai Kings, these were some of the most solid slot fish of the season , and this is usually the week for the "big males " but they were still still a few weeks late till they showed , so there were plenty of large females to hunt down , looking for some great fishing without the crowds , June Kenai river Alaska that's the spot, slot limit on our fish is 46" to 55" have to be released but there is a tone of them under the slot , that will just about match wits with any seasoned vet on getting them to the boat , great June and good fishing to the Jennings it's always my pleasure..........Labels: June Kings Kenai River
We had a great group from Mexico the last week of June, with water conditions being tough , but improving daily we made the most of it , everyone caught fish , but had to work for everyone indeed. The boys told stories of salt water adventures and the fight of their salt water fish, till the rods layed down on the Kenai , new set of stories, they loved catching Kenai Kings , and wouldn't these fish were ripping them up as usual the were are the hard strike bite , and that's all takes , you don't have to have a boat load you just need enough, hats off to you boys see you this fall up on the Coos, Ola to you and great fishing......
Water conditions and fish counts continued to improve through the week , with a great ending , we caught some great fish , all under the slot , we didn't have any fish over the slot that were in the 50" range, but there were good amounts of fish in the 40" to 45" size group , Rick's team from Boeing did a great job , see you guys next year, when you get that "big-bird " done good fishing boysLabels: June Kings Kenai River

Well here's the story, the winds blowing in the lower River , a cold one, so we stayed up river for the last 1/2 day on the River, we caught some other fish, but in the last 10 minutes of the season , we had seen this fish roll in the morning and wouldn't bite , then again at noon , I seen him roll again , he rolled a few minutes before we hooked him , and the battle was on, we shook that plug in front of his face till he just rolled right into it , hats off , to all the good fisherman that I had the pleasure fishing this 2007 season , its been a great season for Dad with their Daughters , and Dads with Sons and just the Family outing with the entire family , the true spirit of family still remains in the "Land of the Midnight Sun", see you in 2008 I have 12 days open for the season....................
Patelco always has a great run of fish to pick through, not this year , we had to wait for the fish , as the nets were in and getting more outside than we were getting up the river, we waited and waited then it happens , we worked for every bite the last few days , but the wait was worth it winning the big fish award for the last day a a good solid 45# Kenai King, Big Al ended up with his fish , we had other fish released but not hardly eating size ........we'll see you next year and will get a bigger one Greg...........good fishing boys
JP come walking up just like he's done since high school, with a friend from Oregon and staying with other good friend Ronnie Mankins from Medford, it was just like old home week . one problem catch the girls their fish, problem solved , good tides , great water conditions and the right bait, magic numbers of fish, results almost a matched pair with the smiles to go with it ............Jimmy hands off to you buddy and good seeing you again , like we talked , we just took some time off fishing, now we have to make for lost time , see you soon on the Rogue
Ive fished these boys before and I'll say it again , if you needed a boat full of go getter's , you would have to look long and hard to find a better team of young men than these kids from Montana, always a smile , never any problems , but we did manage to break a Rod, and in the process caught some dandy Kings, cant wait till next year to see the kid's from Kalisbel Montana/
Check out these smiles from the Weyerhouser group, it doesn't get any better than this for Salmon fishing, great weather, it did just stop raining, water conditions are good and the water temps are fair but cooling a little, good numbers of fish are passing by the sonar on a daily basis heading for the spawning areas, we are seeing more fish moving around and even sitting on the spot , were they like, we are hoping for a huge fish any day
Well we had to name one of the new plugs, after Berkley;s Daughter Morgan, the new name "the double Morgan" and Pat held his end of the bargain up drilling a good fish at the start of each day , hat off to Berkley , Morgan, and Pat for being such a great crew , we are already for next year again , and good luck to Morgan in her new job right out of school, I bet she's wearing sandal's at the job sight eh!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice fish, great grade of fish for this part of the run, we are seeing the last of the late June Kings and the starting of the July late run Kings, water conditions are still good, temps are good and the counts are looking better everyday, nice group to fish, looking forward to next year already ........

I thought it was when he introduce himself but he had to race that night, so he brought his Dad , Big Dave with him from Idaho, what a great team of fisherman this was , we had it going we had lots of fish for targets , and we were real selective on what we kept , giving water conditions and the perfect weather conditions along with some great tides , you just could not beat the days fishing on the lower river or the Kenai, "Hats of to Dale" what a great kid..............
Hey did we have a great goup this week , we had great water conditions , great temps , water and daytime, and a good number of Kenai Kings to shoot at every day, a good grade of fish for June, not much boat traffic, and good times by all , thanks again Tom Hardy group , for such a great week on the Kenai River .........
Water conditions change and so did the bite, but that didnt stop David and his Son from catching the Kings , we would have liked to hooked more , but we took some fine fish no the lease. Again the water conditions play a big part in the June fishery on the Kenai River, the counts continue to build with more fish everyday .......
Gary kicks the 2007 season off with a nice fish , water conditions were at prime with the thaw on the Kenai River , water temps were good , and the Hot Colored Silver sided Kings were on the move, the slot fish to be thrown back are 44"-55" all others may be kept, check out the 2007 seasons pictures
07/28/05 I fished two family's today , we had some nice fish and this is the best picture of the day , sometimes it not the biggest or the most , that makes the best day of fishing that you ever had, Mom has a smile that you cant get off her face , and the Kids ...what can I say, bring those kids , get them into Salmon fishing in Alaska, let them get the bug like you have , and it will stay with them forever, come to the"Land of the Midnight Sun"
07/20/05 , we looked long and hard for this king we couldnt get a good King to lock on this day , we went through a ton of fish , but we couldnt get one for the wall , it would take till the last hour we put the "Wall Mounter " in the box, and yes , size does matter, this is what its all about , big fish, good company, in a great place
07/13/05 The yearly trip for the folks at Weyerhouser started out with a bang with the boys getting a couple of real nice eating fish for the trip, and as always Maynard was on, and in the driver seat, the water conditions could not have been better, thanks Linda for being the best bait gal, some kind of special sauce? yea youre right we are not telling
We were down on a Sunday 07/03/05 when Mike's rod go's off , off we go , I was running the boat , and Mike was hanging on , Linda had the net , and the Rat was playing backup, if Mike ran out of gas, after all that, top the scales at 59 1/2 pounds, we did hook and release, eleven more fish that afternoon, should have been there, Im without words...
